Michael Chrichton is an American best - selling author. He is best known for his work in the science fiction, medical fiction and thriller genres. He always does a great job integrating real science in his stories. It makes reading his books very enjoyable for me. Jurassic Park isn't a book that uses "future" science as an excuse to achieve an impossible goal. All of the science and technology in Jurassic Park is explained and makes sense to me. I haven't read any of his other books, but I would like to in future independent reading projects.

So... Currently everyone is stuck in the park without power. They're all separated and lost, the electric fences are down, and the dinosaurs are on the loose. It's all Nedry's fault. For reasons unknown, he installed a program that allowed him to access any part of the park. He went into a top level security room to get some embryos while everyone was out on a test tour. He shut off the power to cover his tracks. I believe he was killed by a Dilophosaur. It is confirmed that he was attacked during his escape but his death isn't. Even if he is still alive, he has no way to get off the island. Grant and the two children were startled by an adult T-rex, sustaining serious injury. The characters are worried if the others are still alive. Everyone's just in a scramble to contact each other. The moral of the story is, don't be Nedry.
Jurassic Park is 442 pages long. I have made it to page 227. The book is very interesting so far. There hasn't been a lot of action until recently. The book contains a lot of moments that make you sit and say to yourself "Yeah... that would work." Personally I love the book. It's futuristic and dramatic. At this point in the book there is tons of suspense because the power went out in the park and everyone is all in the park alone. Someone just died because a dilophosaur spit acid in his face. There's just enough elements in the book for me to paint a picture in my head. It's something that a book usually doesn't do for me. And the top reason why I love this book is that it has DINOSAURS. I have loved dinosaurs since I was two years old. I give this book a 10/10 so far. I'll be back next week. See ya!
