- There are many ways to get the same feeling of using a regular faucet. The regular screw on faucet is around $3 not including installation.
- One could spend upwards of $100 for a whole low flow toilet or spend under $100 on a converter that has two settings.
- To reduce water usage with the use of low-flow use a “rain” drop shower head it uses smaller amounts of water but feels like it uses more.The average “rain” drops cost around $40.
Don’t Water Your Lawn
- Set up a rain barrel under a gutter outside your house. On average, you can catch 4 gallons of water a day (more in really rainy areas) to use for watering the lawn. A good rain barrel can range from $50-$200.
- Set up your sprinklers so they're not spraying the sidewalk or driveway.
- Replace your lawn with turf. Turf can range from $5 to $20 per square foot.
- Plant drought-resistant lawns, shrubs and plants. They are fairly cheap ranging from $5-$40.
- Water during the early parts of the day; avoid watering when it's windy.
- Put a layer of mulch around trees and plants.
- Install a drip-irrigation system. Drip-irrigation installation can range from $300-$750.
- Pipe leaks waste 3,000 gallons a year on average

- Faucet leaks can waste up to 347 gallons annually
