Project Description
My ninth grade Biology and English class decided to have a big potluck in which every student was required to choose one portion of a complete meal, protein, starch, veggie, or dessert. I chose the starch portion and made a summer pasta salad. They then had to cook it once for themselves at home and take pictures during the process. Then once more for the potluck. All students created many drafts of recipes for their meal. The purpose of this project I think was to show that to eat a home cooked meal wasn't hard at all. Eating healthy was not a big hassle.
Growth
I feel that through this project I grew most in agency. I know this because with cooking and writing recipes, there was many deadlines that I had to meet. I had to respond to feedback that my teachers gave me on all of my recipe drafts. I also had to make sure that I took okay looking pictures of my food when I made it. To make up for my "expert" photography skills, this project also ties in with my Computer Graphics class, I had to edit my food pictures in Photoshop to make it look better.
